Hi I live in Australia and am interested in the Amazon Kindle but it I were to purchase this could I still download and use as normal here in Australia.

Yes that’s probably true, that the Kindle will make eReaders more mainstream.

To bad it’s so ugly, expensive and tied to the Amazon store.
They should have made the keyboard part foldable or detachable and lowered the price to ~$200.

Thanks for commenting Peter. I was meaning more mainstream rather than reality (exceedingly bad wording on my part). With a force like Amazon behind it I can see it really taking off though they are going to have to lower that price a lot IMO.

Are you saying that you don’t know of any other e-reader?!

The Kindle have some new features but it’s in no way the first e-reader.

To me the sony prs-505 seems like a better and nicer looking device.
