The buzz is all around the new Asus Eee PC (the “Eee” stands for “Easy to learn, Easy to work, Easy to play”) as an affordable and portable option for the computer user who doesn’t need a ton of bells and whistles for their portable computer.

Currently, Asus is releasing its Asus Eee PC 2G Surf ($299) in Galaxy Black and Pure White only, but in the spring, they’ll be offering the colors Lush Green, Sky Blue and Blush Pink.

The other models in the product line have been spared the Easter Bunny treatment. As reported earlier in the week here at Coolest-Gadgets.com, since the 4G ($399) is currently available in Galaxy Black and Pure White, it is likely (though not definite) that the 8G and 4G Surf will be offered in both colors as well.

This new little computer is starting to get the casual computer user excited about a portable computer: it’s cheap and it works. It also has the “cute” factor that the iPod Mini had when it first came out. It’s small, it works and it comes in cute colors!

I, for one, will be picking one up as soon as they offer the Lush Green color. What color would you get if you had the choice?
