The Hexayurt shelter is featured at that WIRED piece. It’s public domain, and you can build one yourself for $200 with parts from Home Depot, or for real disaster use, we believe they can be made on site for $100 per shelter, or sixty cents a square foot. That’s probably cheaper than tents. We think this is the way to do shelters in the developing world, as well as handling emergencies in the developed world. The solution is Open Source.
