The Hexayurt shelter is featured at that WIRED piece. It’s public domain, and you can build one yourself for $200 with parts from Home Depot, or for real disaster use, we believe they can be made on site for $100 per shelter, or sixty cents a square foot.

That’s probably cheaper than tents.

We think this is the way to do shelters in the developing world, as well as handling emergencies in the developed world.</description>
