Gateway gets Mac-ish with One
Gateway has announced it’s latest all in one PC that looks strangely like it came fresh out of Cupertino. Built inside a stylishly black 3.6 inch shell, the Gateway One sports a 1.5GHz Core 2 Duo processor with 2GB of RAM, 320GB hard drive, Intel X3100 graphics card, 19” LCD screen and various accessories like built in TV tuner and USB Memory card reader.
Ethernet, USB, and AV ports are connected through the external power adapter with Bluetooth and wifi keyboard and mouse interfaces. The side mounted DVD Burner is slot-loading and incorporates three USB ports, one FireWire, and audio in/out connectors. Upgraded models along with 2GHz Dual Cores, more memory, ATI Radeon graphic cards and a half terabyte hard drive.
But don’t let this all in one fool you that it isn’t upgradeable. The design promises to be easy to open for replacement of all internals including the hard drive or RAM memory.
What’s really cool is that there’s also a mounting kit to enable users to decorate their office or rooms by hanging the PC on a wall.
Talk about removing desk clutter. And if speculation is true that Gateway is considering a widescreen 30 inch LCD for future versions, the One may not only describe an all in one PC, but media entertainment center as well.
Delivery comes next month starting at $1500 USD.
