Meizu has their latest portable media player ready for launch, and it will be known as the miniPlayer M7. This will have the recently released iPod Touch in its sights, along with Samsung’s P2. The miniPlayer M7 measures 3.5″ x 1.9″ x 0.3″ and boasts a 2.8″ 16 million color LCD display with a 480 x 288 resolution, supports H.264 playback at 720 x 480 pixels and 30fps, including DivX and Xvid file formats via TV out. It will come in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB formats and retail for $90, $110, and $150 respectively. Word on the street has it the miniPlayer M7 will hit the streets from next March onwards – will it be too late to the party by then? A lot will be riding on its touch-based interface, that’s for sure.
