The Photocopier that Translates

Fuji Xerox have come up with a very neat twist on the traditional photocopier, their new prototype can translate on the fly.
The translatocopier (okay I made that word up) currently supports English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. When a document is scanned it automagically differentiates diagrams from text which it then translates maintaining the original layout.
I’ve used a fair few automated translating services in the past and they’ve always seemed a bit quirky and come out with some very strange sentences so I’m not sure if this will be more gimmicky than useful but I hope it gets past the prototype stage.

Now this is technology =) but I doubt the translated page is effective as those to documents that are translated with human translators that are professionals. The problem with tools is that the meaning of the content is sometimes taken away when translated.
