Steven: you still plug and have a wired device for those, and that's bad. As for the iPod, there's always either this wired module or an add-on bigger than a shuffle that you have to stick up the iPod's arse. I'd rather have the bluetooth radio and a chunky battery in the player. Really.

Johnathon: true, true... battery life's a major issue here. I don't know if I'm the only one, but I'd rather have a bigger device without extreme storage capacity but with a badass battery inside. Look at the iPod classic now... 160gig of data? what the hell?.. a small hard drive/flash memory (small being 40-60 gig) and a big battery would have fit the bill much better, I reckon... A nice example is the AK-47 phone (just google it)... 6800 MAh is cool.

@Andi - I completely agree. It might be cheaper or more power efficient than A2DP or some other accepted/used *standard* but if it is only going to work with a small number of devices, then you can count me out.

I'm really hoping that more and more devices start using A2DP. I hate wires. I know that worrying about battery life is still a big part of the puzzle, so when that gets "solved" I'll be a happy camper.

There have been wireless headphones around for a long time. There are no less than 20 that work with the ipod. Most use blue tooth.

I really like the new logitech ones (and they can be used with any sound device that has a standard mini plug (headset jack).

Just my .02

And it's going where many old cell phones and even MP3-players have gone before, but it just doesn't use the bluetooth standard but some proprietary c**p and ugly phones :)

sciffy tech? :))
