With the start of the week there are always some fresh news related to MP3 players/portable media players, this edition will cover the latest news of that department and make you aware that there are other audio products besides the almighty iPods.

  • To start with, I will present a not-so-common player that targets the religious people. Ever thought about reading the Bible on a PMP without much effort? Take a look at the iBible player from KingNeed. Besides the usual specifications (3.2″ touchscreen display, a slot for miniSD memory cards, and audio and video support) the Bible is also included. You can do plenty of stuff with it, including searching for a specific verse, a keyword, or even a chapter title.

In case religion isn’t your thing, the iBible can work as a PDA with functions such as: calendar, task manager, voice recorder, world clock, e-book reader, and more.

  • In other news, the Zune got officially pink. We already mentioned Pink Zunes on eBay last year, but more recently (September 6) Microsoft added the new color to the market and gave Urban Outfitters the joy of having 1,000 players for sale.

Sadly there is no information about the price, but keep an eye on Urban Outfitters because the players will be released this month.

  • Last but not least, there are some rumors about the release date of the second version of the Zune has been slated for October 16th, but don’t forget that this is only a rumor. The “claim” was made by iWantPinkZune and we’ll have to wait till the middle of October to check if it’s true or not.
