TomTom has taken advantage of IFA 2007 in Berlin by releasing its new flagship model known as the TomTom GO 920 T that boasts a whopping 4GB of internal memory with complete maps of 41 European countries in addition to USA and Canada pre-installed. Not only that, you also get the brand new Enhanced Positioning Technology that brings a more continuous navigation experience as well as the RDS-TMC Traffic Receiver in order to benefit from up-to-date traffic information. Without further ado, let’s have a deeper look at the maps included in the TomTom GO 920 T after the jump.
Some of the countries included in the European and North American maps are Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, San Marino, Spain (inc. Canary Islands), Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Vatican City, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Russia Federation USA, Canada, Guam. There’s also Road Connector coverage in Central Europe offering coverage of major roads to allow guided navigation from city to city and the borders of neighboring counties: Albania, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine.
The inclusion of Enhanced Positioning Technology uses movement and gravity sensors that helps calculate your current position whenever you enter an urban canyon that makes it impossible to receive GPS signals. If you’re interested in picking up the TomTom GO 920 T, it will be available sometime in the last quarter of 2007 as long as you fork out 550 Euros. Looks like a pretty good buy if you’re thinking of upgrading your current GPS navigation system, but for those who are diving into the GPS game for the first time, it might be a better idea to pick up something that is more entry level.
