The Apple iPhone is now capable of running all your favorite classic games, courtesy of Kaisersoze running MAME on it. The iPhone version’s MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) is based on the SDL version of the emulator which originally was meant to run on the Ubuntu Linux platform. You won’t get performance equal to the real thing though, but future revisions will definitely see more optimizations that will be a marked improvement. Simple games like Pac-man and Q*bert are currently able to run at close to normal speeds, but anything more complex than that will crawl along despite turning frame-skipping on and sound disabled.
