All this is Microsoft's piss poor attempt to attempt to stop the wave of growing users of open source software outside the US. It has nothing to do with social responsibility at all. Microsoft fears loosing it's chock hold on global market and it's eventual repercussions on the US market, it's bread and butter. Bottom line, there is a better product on the market and it is low or even no cost and the hardware industry is starting to catch on that there pence that they pay to Microsoft for being "compatible" is complete BS.
