I find it odd that there have been ads all over the net for a couple years about this product but no one is saying they actually have one. And none seem to be selling on ebay. Why?

I don't think it's a good idea to replace any parts of your carseat. It might not hold the child in during a crash. And most people will not admit that they could possibly forget their child in the car.

I think this is a great ides (having done it myself with a 6 month old baby!)

The only thing is that in the UK it's recommended that there shouldn't be anything to struggle with when trying to release a child after an accident - that's why the clips aren't found on UK car seats anymore.

This isn't an extra step to do, that could easily be forgotten, though. Since it replaces the usual front buckle on the car seat, it's a necessary part of getting the baby into the car seat. It's only the few that have tragic results that we hear about on the news, but how many other people forget their babies on days when the weather isn't hot enough to kill? Or remember them before any damage is done (even if it's just as far as getting inside the house and remembering the baby's still in the car)? I think a lot more people forget their kids in the car than people may realize. This is something that should be a standard part of every car seat, for peace of mind if nothing else.

I so hate to say this, but if you're forgetting you have a kid in the car..... its not too likely you're gonna remember to put this on.
