The Legendary Marshall Amp is now a DAB Radio
July 31st, 2007 by Nick in Audio/Video Gadgets, Retro Gadgets, USB Gadgets
The classic and legendary Marshall amplifier, famous for being used by guitarists like Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page, among many others, is the inspiration for a cool digital DAB radio made by Pure and Evoke.
Wrapped in black vinyl, made of solid wood, with a black metallic speaker grille just like the original Marshall amp, this radio is a great buy for both musicians and rock n’ roll fans. The radio has a scrolling LCD text display and can receive up to 55 DAB stations, but there are only six preset stations. You can listen to your MP3 or iPod, using the other auxiliary input. You can also use this to plug in your guitar to play.
The volume goes to 11, maintaining the spirit of the real amp. The audio quality is sharp, but the best thing about this radio is the USB connector that allows you to download free updates from your PC easily.
The Marshall DAB radio costs £99.95 and is available at I Want One of Those.
