SuddenStop could help save lives

Driving might be considered to be relaxing for certain quarters, but there are times when people get behind the wheel despite being not fit to do so, especially when they have not gotten the minimum amount of rest the night before. Plenty of accidents have happened where the car behind is tailgating and kisses the rear end of the front car due to a delayed reaction time. The SuddenStop license plate frame aims to help drivers improve their reaction times in the event of an emergency brake situation, and it does so by flashing extremely bright LEDs in order to perk the driver behind immediately no matter how heavy his/her eyelids are.

This is made possible by technology packed into the license plate frame which is capable of calculating G-forces in real time, making its super bright LEDs flicker like mad whenever it detects you decelerating suddenly. What’s great about this is the SuddenStop license plate frame does not hook up to your vehicle’s electrical system, so you won’t have to worry about draining your car’s batteries. What’s more, it is only activated whenever you slam on the brakes to further conserve power. It is powered by eight button-sized lithium batteries that contain enough power to last 15,000 hours - which averages out to between two and three years of use.

It is interesting to note that when the SuddenStop license plate frame is in use, it is capable of shaving off 0.25 seconds from a driver’s reaction time. Some of you might scoff at that window of time given, but you’ll be surprised to know that it actually translates to a massive 20 feet of stopping distance if you’re going at 60 mph. The SuddenStop is currently being bandied about at the low, low introductory price of $29.99 a pop. What’s more, it could help save lives on the road as well as avoid more fender benders.

Is this actually legal? Isn’t this like a 4th brake light? I think in California cars can only have 3 brake lights.
