Ok, so say you have this key. My question is, what happens when you lose the thing. If its registry specific, then your pretty much SOL I would think.

Hi Mike,
I am one of the KidSafe inventors and programmers. Thanks for you comment. Many products presently do not support Vista. The release of our Vista version has little to do with our 'poor development' skills and rather more to do with the speed with which microsoft release service packs and fix bugs. As a we are a tiny company in comparison to the behemoth that is microsoft we have to follow their development path. Our software is quite sophisticated and works at a low level. Until service pack 2 is released the underlying OS architecture can and usually does change so we like many other companies must wait until then. The alternative would be to release a product which could simply stop working after a service pack release which would cost many months of development time.We do of course have something ready but most wait until the operating system is stable. This is much the same reason why organisations won't be deploying Vista anytime soon and why I would advise anyone to stick with XP for a while which does a great job and doesn't need 4GB of ram to hit the 'sweet spot'.

best regards,
Stjohn Goldfinger

I had a look at the thinkgeek website and it doesn't support Vista. This product has just been released and Vista has been available for over a year... Poor development.
