Ashcan - Smelly butts in your pocket without the smell

Ashcan - ashtray Come July 1st in the UK, you won’t be able to smoke in public confined spaces (I think the official rule is if the building has more than 2 walls you can’t smoke in it). This is cool news for many but it could easily lead to puddles of fag ends around the doors of public houses.

Even with the best of intentions nobody wants a smelly fag end in the pocket. An answer may be at hand, thanks to the ashcan, a personal trash bin for the remains of your cancer stick.

The ashcan is a metalic tube that can hold 4 cigarrette butts, it’s air tight so not only does it prevent you from a potential littering fine it will also stop your pocket having the same pleasant smell of a smokers breath (can you tell I’m an ex smoker).

Smoking cigarettes is a nasty addiction and all but, it is way to simple for governments to take aim at smokers and the tobacco companies while subsidizing the production of tobacco. Perhaps it’s just enough of a distraction to divert attention from the billions of dollars squandered on a daily basis? Na, trust your government.

There should be fines for smokers who drop their butts willy-nilly on city streets, so this invention would be a great idea. Why can’t smokers just use those cig butt ashtray stands???

There is a fine - £80 if you are caught just dropping your cigarette butt onto the floor…. and the councils will be enforcing it now the ban’s in place. i’ll defintiely be using one of thse Ashcan things.
