Days of Our Lives on iTunes

On Tuesday, the American soap opera, Days of Our Lives, debuted on iTunes (US). Full episodes of the soap will be offered at the standard $1.99, but consumers will be able to shave that cost down to 50¢ per episode by ordering a 20-episode multipass for $9.99.

The producers of the show have had several conversations about including bonus scenes from Days of Our Lives in the iTunes version, though nothing has been decided yet.

Days of Our Lives will now be the most widely distributed daytime soap in the U.S., with episodes available on broadcast (NBC), cable (SoapNet) and online (iTunes).

You might want to check your arithmetic a little…

Unless I’m mistaken, you’re saving $1.50 per episode… as 20 episodes for a tenner is 50c each.

More importantly, surely the type of person who’d watch a series on their iPod or PC wouldn’t give a damn about Days of our Lives!

my girlfriend and all 4 of her roommates at Boston College just signed up. so they are only paying 12¢ each per episode. i got her an AppleTV for her birthday in March so it works out perfectly. they used to have to record it everyday on a VCR.

by the way, Days of Our Lives is extremely popular, especially with women. and women are allowed to own electronics – like an iPod or AppleTV. maybe you should slop some acne cream on your ass and try to meet some.

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I didn’t mean that to be a gender-specific comment. Early adapters tend to be intelligent. And soap-watchers… well, not so much, really.

As evidenced by the fact that the 5 of them are paying 60c per episode for a 50c show.
