Welcome 40,000 Gadget Loving Subscribers

Yesterday we hit a milestone, we had just over 40,000 people reading Coolest Gadgets via our RSS feed (), which is simply awesome . To celebrate we’ll be giving away a $50 Think Geek voucher, after this thank you message.

So in no particular order I’d like to thank all the writers who’ve done a cracking job over the years. We also received a fair few comments so thanks to Neagle, EEJ, George, GrimReeper, tecwzrd and the many others who correct my our mistakes and add to the debate.

We also get our fair share of link love from other sites, I can’t list them all here so I’ll thank a few with links and the rest in spirit. So cheers Gadget Metro, Slippery Brick, DeGadget, Gizmotika, No Puedo Creer, Hacked Gadgets, Gizmodo, Born Rich, RGS, Burst Blog, tech.ruizology, PixMedial, Gear Fuse, Ounae, The Goat, Nerd Approved, Oh Gizmo, Shiny Shiny, ZedoMax, Gadget Venue, Sugared Ants, I could go on and on with the thank you’s but I think you get the gist, to those sites I missed thanks again.

Next up it’s competition time, as Think Geek don’t do a $40 voucher (appropriate for 40K subscribers) we’ll have to give away a $50 voucher instead. So in order to have a change of winning, simply leave a comment here and tell us what’s your favourite gadget we’ve every written about. In 48 hours we’ll then have a poll to decide whose was the most amusing (as that’s the only way I can think of judging it).

I was going to drop an email today to you about this. 40k is amazing! I have been watching your RSS count since you made the post over on SMM of all the blogs with RSS counts listed. I think you had just broken the 30k mark and that was only a few weeks ago. I think you will hit 50k readers by the end of this month.

A post that made me laugh was the recently posted Badonkadonk Land cruiser a few days back. I still laugh about it now and what kind of looks you would get driving around the UK.

I am a fairly new Coolest-Gadgets RSS feed reader, but I would like to say congratulations.

I would have to say that one of my favorite gadgets was the Dreamate Sleep Inducer, which I am considering purchasing. I am a night owl with an early morning job, so I tend to stay up later and I would end up getting 3 to 4 hours of sleep. I would then make a 30-minute drive to work before the sun has risen.

The lack of light and lack of sleep poses a hazard to not only my personal safety, but the safety of others. More sleep/better sleep could possibly help me in preventing this problem from happening.

So, thanks for introducing me to this gadget. And again: congratulations!

Yea! I enjoy when a site goes big time while sticking to the fundamentals that brought the site to the attention of the masses. I am rather certain you folks would still keep the faith even if the mainstream did not take much interest. With so many more subscribers I hope more people will take an interest in imparting their comments especially from those who have purchased/tried/seen the gadget or topic of the post.

My favorite gadget i’ve seen so far has to be the “Fishloft” http://www.coolest-gadgets.com/20061013/a-loft-for-your-fish-pond/
How cool is it to see a fish come as close to experiencing the air breathing world while having gills? I have seen some crazy customized “tank tubes” based on this gadgets concept usually put together by college aged scholars with access to some cool lab “toys.”

First I would like to congrat you guys, second I´ve tried to think about the favorite gadget that I saw here, but the reality is that every single gadget that I found really cool @ the coolest gadgets, I just had to do a trackback and translate to portuguese to post @ my blog, so @ the end I could not decide about only one…
