If you google you will probably find lots of tips. Also, maybe by adding reflective threads maybe? Or polarizing or similar effect? thus any reflected EM/RF would distort what the camera collects. Or if the peeperists (note I did not use any form of Thomas) are using an IR (e.g. heat) sensing equipment, then maybe the fabric is "heat collecting" thus the camera is overloaded with too much - like taking a photo of the sun.
