Maybe I can wear these on my head during my license photo at the DMV! Honestly, though, I am also interested in exactly how these beautiful britches help protect you against said unwarranted photos.

ShotGuard is infrared blocking underpants, mainly designed for women.

It turns out that on some digital cameras and camcorders, there is a way to alter the device to capture images from the infrared range of light, which can be used to see through thin layers of clothing. Peeping Toms and other voyeurs have realized this and as such, potential victims need a way to protect themselves.

Consider this is a cease and desist order. I and my fellow Toms are getting fed up with you people that insist upon calling voyeurs “Peeping Toms”. How about “Peeping Johns”, or “Peeping Freds” or “Peeping Alans” or better yet let’s callem “Peeping Edwins”.

I’d second the IR comment - apparently digital cams/digi vid cams can either be modified by removing an internal filter as well as adding an similar external to get the see-through effect. If you google you will probably find lots of tips.

Also, maybe by adding reflective threads maybe?
Or polarizing or similar effect?

thus any reflected EM/RF would distort what the camera collects. Or if the peeperists (note I did not use any form of Thomas) are using an IR (e.g. heat) sensing equipment, then maybe the fabric is “heat collecting” thus the camera is overloaded with too much - like taking a photo of the sun.

Look at all those innuendos! how many jokes can you see?

During the last year we saw the Japanese swim team now equipped with lead lined swim wear to aid with IR peeping issue. Twas just a matter of time ’till we found train hoppers desiring the same features.

Some fabrics, especially synthetics such as nylon, are transparent to IR. Some, especially cotton and some other natural fibers, are opaque to IR. That is how the knickers work. That is also why they cover so much of the body. There would be little point to opaque fabric covering a teeny bit of anatomy.
