The Wireless Wall Mounted Printer

Wireless Frame Printer

The design of the printers hasn’t really evolved in all these years, and most of them still look like huge bricks, taking away precious space on your desk. But now that’s about to change, with the new concept printer designed by Ransmeier & Floyd. The ‘Wireless Frame Printer’ is designed to be mounted on your wall, and will receive the files to be printed wirelessly so there’s no more cable mess to deal with.

Inspired by gadgets such as flat screens and wireless notebooks, this printer combines the best of both worlds, and the coolest detail is that when you print a photo, it will look just like a picture in a frame, in a kind of a temporary work of art.

There are a few questions to be answered about how it will be powered, and taking out the picture from the frame seems to be a bit tricky, but it’s still great to see fresh ideas and new directions on the design of printers, surely one of the most useful peripherals out there.

This concept is currently being exhibited at the Design Triennial at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York.
