Grilliput: the pocket-BBQ

Another deliciously geeky and practical contraption you can find at ThinkGeek. It’s a barbecue which can be folded into a 30-cm long tube!

Goodbye to lugging that heavy piece of iron around, well met exotic and remote barbecue locations!

The grill is made of stainless steel and weighs less than 600 grams! The grilling surface is 9″ x 10.2″ (23 x 26 cm), more than enough for 2-3 persons.

The grill is made of 4 feet, two tubes and several stainless steel rods. It can be taken apart, and all the components fit inside one of the tubes, which is thicker, 11.4″ (29 cm) long and .87″ (2.2 cm) in diameter.

Some of you might dislike the idea of having a lardy, sticky tube in their backpack. Luckily, this one has a built-in cleaning groove for getting the burnt fat off its rods. When you arrive back home, you can safely put it in the dishwasher.

There’s also an extra accessory that you can buy. It’s a Compact firebowl. It’s practical for containing the fire for your barbecue and for carrying the coal. It’s only 3″ tall, and has a diameter of 7″ when closed, and 11.5″ when open.

Even without its firebowl, this barbecue is great for anyone who likes the outdoors and barbecues.

You can get them both at ThinkGeek. The Grilliput itself costs $29,99, while the bowl is $12,99.
