I was not aware of this fact, but it seems that in the Netherlands you can buy MP3 players preloaded with songs in shops. The Dutch company Disky is selling four different players with two hours of music in each for 19.90 Euros. Of course with this cheap price tag there had to be a catch: The tracks cannot be removed or replaced, which in my opinion takes all the fun out of the equation.

That’s not a problem to the company though; as they say the same thing happens when you buy a new CD. There are four MP3 players for you to choose from, with music selections from the 70’s and the 80’, and collections with “romantic songs” and “songs for fitness and running”. The players are aimed at people who love sports and kids, according do Disky, but I think that even children are going to be sick of hearing the same songs day in, day out.

The players are on sale in Netherlands, and after these first four models, Disky plans on releasing several others.
