Pink Stinger disguised as tampon
May 2nd, 2007 by Edwin in Electronic Gadgets
While most tasers and stun guns are dead giveaways the moment thieves and other unsavory characters lay eye on them, chances are they won’t be able to notice that the Pink Stinger is actually a taser disguised as a tampon, giving ladies the extra confidence in knowledge that they have an edge when it comes to the element of surprise. What makes the Pink Stinger deadly in the arms of a lady under threat is its ability to dispense up to 50,000 volts of power - more than enough to disable and disorient your assailant while you take this window of opportunity and get some help.
The taser’s glide applicator fits into the palm of your hand comfortable, and is more than ready to discharge itself at a moment’s notice at the touch of a button. A fresh floral scent helps keep it disguised without giving the game away. Under the stun setting, all you need to do is make contact with your target through the two prods, while shooting can be accomplished in taser mode where the couple of extra absorbent cotton tampons equipped with barbed probes are shot up to 14 feet away, disabling your attacker from a safe distance. The taser mode has a maximum target range of 14 feet, but the manufacturer suggests you use it within 7 to 10 feet away.
Needless to say, you need not be a menstruating human to carry this around but it would look pretty weird holding the Pink Stinger if you’re a guy. Take note that this device is meant to be used in self defense only and not for any other purpose as that could result in serious injuries.

At least half of crime prevention should be deterrence…..

June 29th, 2007 at 12:37 am[...] I suspect this product is not real, but let’s pretend it is. It’s a stun gun shaped like a tampon, of all things. The main flaw I see in this device are that it wouldn’t look particularly good while you were walking to your car in the dark - it’s supposed to be discreet, and you can certainly fit it in the palm of your hand, but who carries around tampons outside their wrapper? But furthermore, how is the tampon supposed to get shot out of the applicator? Those plastic applicators are kind of stiff, I can’t imagine it could pack sufficient punch to get through the rounded end. Then again, if it’s enough to zap someone, maybe it’s enough to get out. Anyway, I don’t think this is real, but it’s amusing. Maybe someday an attractive, realistic pink taser will come to market. [via coolest gadgets] [...]
