Unlike a TV which emits light from itself directly. In this manner the gun cannot discern a change from black to white as the projector bouncing off a wall isn't emitting enough light. At the same time special techniques were used with specific regard to CRT technology, therefore Duck Hunt also doesn't work with LCD technologies as well either. A sad day indeed.
