What’s gadgety about colored dots and white pens, come on guys. I reckon you need a special plug label printer to go with it.

Or you could just use color coded dots like these. You get a multicolor pack of 1000 for less than $10 in various colors.

I use a white pen to mark wall warts and cables. Even cheaper and won’t fall off.
