Granted, you shouldn't get near the innards of a harddrive with your magnetic jewelry. But probably you shouldn't, anyway. For me, it's a purely aesthetic decision to be wearing magnetic armlets and the like. Never tried a magnetic wedding ring, though. Someone here who could report on that?

Y'alls paranoia is cute, but misplaced. Been wearing a magnet ring for a couple weeks now. It has not interfered with my computers, or my iPhone in anyway.

It has however altered my awareness of the world around me.

Ferrous materials aside, I can feel A.C. due to the ring vibrating when near a sufficiently powerful energy source.

The Neodymium (NdFeB) rare earth magnet is the strongest permanent magnet today and boasts an extremely high magnetic force and energy. They are used in devices and instruments where a strong magnetic field is required, such as in avionics, spacecraft, electronic instruments and test equipment, medical instruments, microphones, DC motors, loudspeaker drivers, magnetic therapy products (you know the productpearl earrings

Magnetschmuck, the fact that hard drives have magnets in them is the entire reason why putting magnets near hard drives is considered a bad idea! If your magnets interfere with the HDD's magnets, you can screw up the drive. I think PC/part manufacturers have done a lot since earlier days to make this as difficult as possible, though, so it's not nearly as dangerous as some of the other commenters are making it out to be.

Magnet rings actually eases tensions on your fingers, and also, hard drives actually have magnets on it. I am also personally maintaining my computer, not having problems with my laptop although i have magnet rings on.
