Star Wars Postage Stamps

Star Wars Postal Stamps

We reported on the R2-D2 mailboxes earlier in the month and now comes the next convergence in the force between Star Wars and the United States Postal Service, the official Star Wars postage stamps.

The sheet contains 15 different stamps, each graced by a familiar face, scene or ship from the films. There’s also a vote going on where the favourite stamp will be recreated on a sheet all of it’s own, I voted for Vadar. When I last looked there had been 13,290 votes and there is still 55 days to go.

More info, voting and availability over at USPS Jedi Master.

I thought that putting LIVING people on postage stamps was verboten? Wasn’t there a, like, 30 year waiting period after they dies before someone could be on a stamp?

I know these are “characters” but so is any other actor / singer / entertainer who graced a stamp.

Nice find. Appeals to a certain sub-group of the population, I’m sure. :) Yoda’s my favourite.
