ImCoSys Presents a Linux Smartphone with Integrated GPS

ImCoSys Smartphone

The Swiss company ImCoSys presents its smartphone at CeBIT 2007 with a special module designed to be used by the government’s inspection department, with an integrated SiRF III GPS chip with an internal antenna. I’m not sure how appealing this quadband smartphone will be to regular people, but since it runs on Linux, it may be successful with its hardcore fans.

Besides the large TFT-LCD touchscreen with 2.8” and 260 K colours, this phone has WiFi 802.11b and Bluetooth 1.2 connectivity, 64 MB or SDRAM and 64 MB of flash memory, expandable with a SD slot, a Texas Instruments 200 MHz processor.

You can also view Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents, as well as JPG, GIF and PNG files, access the web with an Opera browser using WAP 2.0, use Push Mail or POP3 services (but not IMAP).

The ImCoSys Smartphone measures 4.9 x 2.5 x 0.70 inches and weighs 5,92 ounces. Find out more at ImCoSys.

Anyone actually seen a review or used one of these? I can’t believe it’s so featureful and yet there’s no news anywhere on it.
