Pussy Cat robot also a computer
February 27th, 2007 by Edwin in Conceptual Gadgets
When you mentioned the word PC, most of us often think of something rectangle or square. Never in a million years would the layman think out of the box to create a multi-functional computer that does more than just crunching numbers on a spreadsheet. The Microsoft Next PC Design affair managed to produce some pretty quirky concepts, and among them is the Pussy Cat robot. It can be either a robotic feline or a normal computer, but never both simultaneously. Read on to find out what the Pussy Cat robot can offer in either modes.
As a personal computer, the Pussy Cat robot features a moving computer concept that performs all the basic computing tasks such as video playback, listening to music, engaging yourself in a simple game, surfing the Web, dabble with instant messaging and replying e-mails, look up reminders on your spreadsheet, and even setting up an alarm. Of course, don’t expect to perform miracles such as playing the most cutting edge games as the internal processing power won’t be able to keep up with the required framerate.
When you are done with your work, switch the Pussy Cat robot over to its robotic mode. This unique transformation will turn your computer into an instant four-legged robotic feline that moves about the home by itself thanks to an advanced AI. It comes with face recognition technology that enables it to recognize its master. You can program it to be a mobile home monitor system for enhanced security. The Pussy Cat robot has “paws” that lights up in the dark so you won’t kick or step on it accidentally when going to the loo at night. There is even an air freshener to spruce up your surroundings.
