Samsung Aura attracts envious stares
Samsung on the whole has really come into its own over the years in terms of hardware development and design. The Aura R20 notebook will be the latest release by the South Korean electronics giant, boasting a minimalist styling in a glossy black piano finish that is guaranteed to attract envious stares from your colleagues (and fingerprints as well, if the current gadget trend is anything to go by). One could say that these notebooks are beautiful enough to give the Apple MacBook a run for its money, but Apple fans will most probably think of such a comparison as heresy.
Those who do not judge a (note)book by its cover will be pleasantly surprised to find that the R20 is no slouch when it comes to performance. Powered by an Intel processor that is ably aided by the new AMD/ATI RS600ME chipset, the R20 is actually the fastest integrated graphics solution on the planet currently. Depending on your budget, you will be able to choose from the lowly Intel Celeron M right up to a high-end Core 2 Duo T7400 2.16GHz processor that is more than able to handle the latest games without breaking a sweat.
Additional features include a 14.1″ widescreen display that features a native resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. This display also comes with a high contrast coating which makes it an alternative video playback device. You also get an integrated Super-Multi DVD writer, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR and WiFi connectivity, an internal 56k modem and an integrated Ethernet adapter. There is no word on the pricing details as at press time.
