Clean your toothbrush with the power of UV
February 25th, 2007 by Mike in Home Gadgets
It seems these crazy things called UV rays can do all sorts of crazy things. Now, what’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear UV rays and cleaning together in a sentence? If you’re the person that thought of a UV toothbrush sanitizer, treat yourself to a cookie or two because that gadget does indeed exist and it’s called the Violight.
Just like the SteriPEN, the Violight uses germicidal UV technology to actually destroy the bacteria’s DNA, making it unable to reproduce. Tons of bacteria are destroyed, some of the big names being E. coli, salmonella, and streptococcus. When it comes down to it, you’re getting a better brushing experience! Really! In all seriousness, you don’t want to have any types of harmful bacteria on something you’re going to be putting all throughout your mouth, the sound of that is simply creepy. The actual cleaning process takes about 10 minutes, and you don’t need to be there to watch it. All you do is press the button, then the base glows blue and automatically shuts itself off after cleaning has finished. The Violight will replace any toothbrush holder you already have, as it can fit up to 4, which is probably the same as your current one, and has some added functionality (the whole UV cleaning thing). Both electric and old school toothbrushes can be used and there’s a removable drip cup for cleaning.
A salmonella, E. coli, and streptococcus free toothbrush only costs you $50! Yep, the Violight UV toothbrush sanitizer is $50. Think of the peace of mind you’ll have.
