Hi, my names Carl Cooper and I am the President of Silco Co company a high sierra water reclamation company and I to have also found a way to purify water on the go without the nasty taste of using a UV light. My process takes only a short amount of time and can be carried with you anywhere with no promlem. Not only does my process leave no hint of chlorine iodine heavy metals but it also gets rid of all ecoli and waterborn diseases. GROWING CONCERNS OF CONTAMINATED DRINKING WATER

Hello, my name is Carl Cooper and I am owner and founder of Silco & Co and Silco products. I have came up with a formula using colloidal minerals to purify water from any water source from lakes,ponds,rivers etc. Many people think that these water purification kits can not take the heavy metals out of the water, but thats where their wrong. Actually, many types of dirt WILL make you sick depending on its chemical composition. Also, dirt particles may contain bacterial or viral elements inside the particle, which if opaque enough could resist the exposure to UV light.

So, how does the magic light handle physical particles of contaminant (dirt, etc)? Not at all, I’d imagine. Same problem as the other “gee-wiz keen” solution, the Miox. Sticking to my Katadyn, thanks.

Just wanted to respond to a comment on the SteriPEN. I am the inventor of the SteriPEN and CEO of Hydro-Photon, Inc. – the company that makes and sells the SteriPEN.

The author says, “Of course, the UV rays might add a nasty taste, but as you can imagine, that’s not mentioned in the product description. It might be a bit bad for sales.” In response, I will simply point out that bottled water and even water for soft drinks is frequently UV purified – specifically because light does NOT change the chemistry or taste of water.
