Patent Series Nr.5 – Birdman of Alcatraz & Boatless Water Skiing

Today’s patents are really absurd, not only because of their function but also due to their design and images presented.

Birdman Of Alcatraz

First we got a Birdman of Alcatraz, for the supposedly bird lovers that like to watch the animals for hours and hours. If that is your case, why not invite them over by offering some food? With the “high-tech” cap (or helmet, or whatever that is) you will be able to have a clear vision of your favorite birds, there are feeders hanging on each side of the helmet – is that close enough for you?

Boat Ball

This boat is one of those cases of strange designs that I was talking about, I wonder if there would be any real “beta testers” to check if this strangely-shaped boat could work properly. It has like two big airplane cabins on the left and right side, plus on the middle there is a big ball that makes the boat float. While in theory it looks like a good idea (or not), I think the practical aspect of using the boat was forgotten: How would people get in/out of the air plane cabins? How would the Boat Ball respond to 5meter waves or just wild weather on the ocean? Probably not too well…

Boatless Water Skiing

Last but not least we got the spectacular Water Skiing sport that doesn’t require a boat. In case you are wondering, when I previously mentioned “really absurd patents” I was talking about this one…
