Waterproof cell phones
by Dan in Mobile Phones
Buy one of these and you will not have to worry about dropping them on the swimming pool or into the toilet anymore. Actually, you will even be able to receive phone calls underwater… not sure how you will handle the talking but the phone will be functional, that is for sure!
The first phone comes from Sony Ericsson and is called SO902iWP+ (I swear I would like to meet personally the people that name those gizmos). The phone comes with an MP3 player and a 1,3 megapixels camera. It is already available in Japan but there are no details about when it will be introduced into the American or European markets.
Fujitsu is also producing a waterproof cell phone called F703i. Despite the small frame (it is 0.7 inch tick and weights only 3,8 ounces) the phone comes with many features, including a 1,3 megapixels camera, an internal camera for video calls, a 2.2 inch TFT LCD and a MicroSD slot for memory expansion.
The Fujitsh mobile phone also has a feature that displays fluctuating lights combined with patterns of relaxing music. You can choose up to 15 different combinations of music and lights. This function works pretty much like a screen saver, kicking-in when the handset is not being used.
Finally, the Korean manufacturer LG also unveiled a waterproof device called “canU 502S”. Unlike the other models this handset is sealed with rubber and it has two holes for the speaker and the camera. The rubber, apart from making the phone waterproof, should also make it more resistant to shocks. The LG model will hit the stores for $545.
