It does feel like a crayon, and it has a writing noise like a pencil. However, pens generally can't be rubbed out (it a general sense), hence giving it its name. Check www.axelweinbrecht.de for other variants on the pen, known as "beta,p" Mind you, it is a tad lite on paper (just press harder), but never appears to wear down, as stated in the manufacturer's guarantee.
