Many of us these days have plenty of data to juggle around with, and when it comes to backup, it is safe to say most do not bother taking the trouble, preferring instead to cry in anguish and regret whenever the data gets corrupted or is deleted forever, consigned to the bowels of defective byte purgatory. Netgear has taken a proactive step by offering the Storage Central Turbo SC101T that features a flexible method to store your music, videos, memorable photos, and the all important work files in a single spot.

Accessing these files over a network can be done in a cinch at gigabit speeds - as long as you insert at least one 3.5″ SATA hard drive. It is interesting to note that the Storage Central Turbo SC101T can hold up to two 3.5″ SATA hard drives of any capacity from any vendor simultaneously. There is no need to grapple with configuration issues as the SC101T boasts a Smart Wizard which does everything for you. Of course, advanced backup and synchronization software also prevents unnecessary data loss by automatically mirroring your data on both hard drives in real time.

As your storage needs grow, you can just swap the SATA hard drives to ones with a larger capacity. That said, it must be noted that the SC101T is strictly the domain of the home user and a small business environment, and not one to be used in an enterprise setup. For more information, head on over to Netgear’s product page.
