Flexmedia – Flexible Animated Signs

Flexmedia

These looked cool, ultra flexible animated posters. Flexmedia uses EL (Electroluminescent) to manufacture striking signage. The above picture doesn’t do the display justice, animation after the jump. So what exactly is EL?
This is how Flexmedia explain it:

EL, or electroluminescent signage, is essentially a flat light bulb sandwich consisting of layers of conductive and non-conductive plastic and a layer of phosphor. The phosphor is laminated between two conductive layers and, as a voltage is applied between the two conductive layers, or electrodes, the phosphor emits light energy.

When a high-quality, high-resolution image is printed over the light, it behaves like a backlit sign.

I’m still waiting for Google to approve the video to show it in action so until then I’ve take this sample from the Flexmedia site.

Hi,

We are a company in Mexico who we make them aswell, we have made a lot of EL products for the Mexican market, the EL is a very innovative material, very useful for night clubs and bars.
