iPhone price in France cemented

by Edwin

french-iphone.jpgAccording to the company’s Orange mobile subsidiary, Apple’s exclusive provider partner in France, it will be selling unlocked iPhones at that astronomically high price whenever customers turn down the 12- or 24-month service contract. I suppose there is always a silver lining in every cloud – after all, France Telecom CEO Didier Lombard did mention that Orange will be selling unlocked iPhones at a “significantly lower” price compared to the $1,471 quoted by rival T-Mobile in Germany.

Nail Cushion prevents painful occurrences

by Edwin

kind-cushion.jpg

The Nail Cushion concept if definitely something every avid DIY enthusiast should have – it is a rubberized plate that holds various nail diameters, allowing you to hit an easy and safe strike without causing any pain or injury to your good self. Designed by Arthur Se, I’m surprised that nobody has come up with this concept before. Hopefully we’ll be able to see this arrive in hardware shops sooner rather than later.

Brookstone 3D Online Store

Brookstone introduces 3D Store

It is everywhere on the news that each year that passes people spend more money online, buying products, using services, playing games, making bets, and other related actions that require cash. Since we are near the Christmas season, the cult of buying gifts online becomes bigger, and the reasons are obvious: less time consuming, less confusion, and more practical.

To refresh the current state of buying on the Internet, which can be basically seen as normal website with a list of products, Brookstone decided to create a 3D Store. The “working” mode is kind of similar to the real life, you can:

  • walk around the store
  • browse products
  • zoom in to check specific products
  • view exact information about the product

DVD makes your child an animated star

by James

Custom DVD

Now this is what I call a stocking stuffer. In partnership with Ritz Camera, a company called Luciodium is creating custom DVDs of animated TV adventures that incorporate your child into the action. The animated adventures are based on The Amazing Spiderman, Dora the Explorer, and Barney. And just in time for the holidays, there is a specially made holiday adventure with Santa Claus. Other character adventures feature the Care Bears, Arthur, Baby Geniuses. Here’s how it works.

Static Electricity Eliminator Saves Your Electronic Gear

by Carolyn

static_electricity_eliminator_additional.jpgIt’s that time of year, especially in the upper Midwest where I live. You come into your house from the outdoors, take off your jacket and the first metal object you touch….ZAP!!  You get a shock. Or you’re walking around your furnace-heated house (which is most likely carpeted in some way, shape or form) and you again touch a metal or electrical object…ZAP!!!  The risk when you walk around in your own home is that most likely, you will be touching your home computer or laptop and risk a device-destroying electrical zap.

Over at ThinkGeek, they sell the Continue reading » Static Electricity Eliminator, which is an ingenious little device that helps ensure that you are “static free”. Static Electricity Eliminator Saves Your Electronic Gear

Vertipod could be the Segway of the Skies

by James

Vertipod

I remember watching episodes of Jonny Quest and seeing flying pods being used by the bad guys to hunt down Jonny and Hadji. I remember thinking to myself – man, those are so cool I can’t wait for the day we have those in real life! Well, according to a story in Wired, that day may have come with the Vertipod, a propeller-powered personal hover aircraft that operates like a helicopter in “ground effect.”

Wear your rank

by Edwin

alexashirts.jpg

Web ranking is the geek’s way of throwing his/her weight around – especially when you’re pretty much up there as one of the big fish. Alexa is a popular method to rank your website, and while it isn’t exactly accurate, you also get to check out how others are doing. You can now show off your current stats with these new Alexa T-Shirts which feature some pretty wacky phrases such as “Will Dance for Better Alexa rank”, “They say size doesn’t matter, but rank does”, and “You will visit my site, you will give me better rank”. Each of these will also come with your actual rank stamped on it. Neat, huh?

orbiTouch Keyless Keyboard

by Mark R

orbiTouch

This next device leaves me completely skeptical about how it works, but I believe that is severely needed. Considering we are a society that is addicted to computers, their current state makes every one of us an easy target for carpal tunnel/repeated wrist syndrome.

Perhaps that is why Blue Orb has created the orbiTouch, a keyboard mouse combination that is really unique, and possibly needed. Instead of keyboards and things that slide around your desk, the orbiTouch uses two round domes that control the actions.
