Tower Clock: another version of the gear clock

by Andi

clock3.jpgGear clocks, where the dial rotates on a little cog and shows the hour, are a pretty interesting design, and still rare and original. We’ve reported on one before, but that was not exactly a stylish time piece, but rather a big ring made of plastic.

This one comes as a small (17 cm tall) desk clock, with a turning square dial. This time design seems to be more of a focus than the novelty factor. You also get two clock faces: a Roman and a conventional one.

Wild: Art Lebedev’s Verspertilium clothes peg

by Andi
Vespertilium

Yes, what you see in the picture above is a clothes peg with bat wings. The team at art.lebedev have done a quick, but nevertheless cool one. The challenge was to come up with something before October 31st in time for Halloween. And this is it.

A simple plastic peg, with wings. It’s got quite a bit of the “LOL effect”, I think. And besides that, when hanging upside down it even looks a bit like a bat.

Here’s the official description:

Inexpensive plastic Vespertilium clothes-pegs remind your neighbors that your laundry is Halloween-ready..

sharp_aquos_26v.jpg

Personally, I think it is great that everything is going to high definition these days. After all, I keep hearing this blasted cut-off date from when all TVs will go into High-Def format, and last I’ve heard, it’s February 2009.

Spongebob Squarepants Corded Flip Phone

by Edwin

sbcorded.jpgNow isn’t this a hoot the Spongebob Corded Flip Phone that targets homes that have not yet made the jump to using nothing but cellphones for communication purposes. Whenever Spongebob is hung up, he looks like a miniature statue, but when you flip him open, he is ready to get your message across, presumably using telepathic powers as his brains are exposed then. The numeric keypad is located behind so that it stays out of sight. If you’re interested in this novelty of a house phone, it is readily available for $19.97.

Movin’ and Groovin’ Flowers

by Edwin

lrg-sec-movingroovinflower.jpgLooks like the Movin’ and Groovin’ Snakes have some company, and it comes in a less mobile form of flowers in a pot. Here’s the skinny on these Movin’ and Groovin’ Flowers.

No water is required for these groovy chaps, all you have to do is plug in the 3.5 mm jack connector to your multimedia device, crank up the volume and enjoy the show as they move and groove to the beat of your music. Movin’ and Groovin’ Flowers also boast pretty decent speakers too and they will pump out your favorite tunes with clear, rich sound and surprising muscle for their dainty guise. There is even a three-way switch which lets you select music and dance, or just music, depending on your mood.

Choose from Lilac (going fast!), Pink, and Yellow variations, and they retail for £14.95 each.

USB Golfer heads for your desks

by Edwin

usb-golder.jpgThe USB Golfer enjoys a much more privileged life than you do – he gets to play as many rounds of golf as he likes without worrying about the weather outside since he’ll be indoors all the time. This £29.99 desktop toy works great for those slow afternoons, as you’ll be able to control where he hits via a software on your computer. He receives instructions and power via USB – just make sure you don’t aim and hit one ball towards your superior’s bald head accidentally.
