Coleman Recharging Tools in a Flash
The new Coleman Flash Cell screwdriver can recharge in 90 seconds flat and it doesn’t use a single battery to do it. How can that be? Rather than rely on rechargeable batteries that can take up to an hour and a half to charge up, the Coleman design relies and a high energy capacitor. Unfortunately, while it can recharge lickety split, users will be charging their screwdriver more often than it’s lithium or NiCad cousins. A basic rechargeable battery powered screwdriver can handle around 35-40 screws between recharge cycles, while the FlashCell gives out after a little over half that (22).

Aussie Soldiers Goin’ Green with Solar Power
For today’s troops in the field, Army life is all about being hitech. From night vision goggles to keeping contact with command via radio, to even GPS navigation equipment, video cameras sending live feeds and even a portable PDA that soldiers use in the field, today’s soldier uses a ton of gadgetry in the field that is eating up power in day to day operation. Batteries are heavy and with that kind of gadgetry, you’d need to carry a lot of them, or rely on equipment for recharging that would not necessarily have access to an electrical source. To that end, the Australian government is investing millions to develop an ultra light solar panel that soldiers can use to charge their tech.

Microsoft Windows Media Center Internet TV Beta

There is a new beta of Windows Media Center Internet TV platform in town, thanks to the efforts of Microsoft. While the Internet TV initiative was launched with the Xbox 360 being the focal point, ironically it will first show up on bug-riddled Windows Vista machines instead. For those who run both Windows Vista Home Premium and Vista Ultimate will soon be able to take advantage of free ad-supported TV content while doing away with the need for a hardware TV tuner. Sounds like a pretty good deal – hopefully the ads that they show here are pretty spiffy ones instead of boring and dry marketing crap that we see these on the idiot box these days. There will be more than a hundred hours of programming which will be available during the beta phase, and fans of “Arrested Development” will be able to look forward to their episodes, along with music concerts by John Mayer and Snoop Dogg.

Man Shaped Book Case

If you like your furniture to be a bit more, err, personal then this book case might be right up your street, the man-shaped shelving solution.
Designed by Susi Berge and Uelo Berger the man thing comprises of 24 different compartments. I must admit I’m not sure why anybody would actually buy one of these which is probably why I’m typing this rather than designing a flower shaped kettle.
