Fenix pack a searchlight into your pocket

by Marc

fenix p1d ce

I had a power cut recently and it’s at times like that when you realise how much you rely on light just being there when you need it. You can’t even read a book when it’s pitch black outside and you’re out of candles. So being the geek that I am, I decided to use this an an opportunity to buy a new gadget. When the power came back I did some digging around to find the current state of the art in flashlight technology – see what I ended up with after the jump…

An additional 50 to 600 horsepower,, Diesel has Nitrous Zex

by Fred

So, umm, you can increase the horsepower by 50 to shudder,, 600 by installing this diesel nitrous system from Zex.Zex diesel Nitrous

I can only imagine their wonderful slogans,

“Wouldn’t you like some Zex?”

“Can I insert my car into your garage with my Zex

I bet you can even have some that are really racy!

This system is primarily for drag racing systems, however, if you’re completely mad and have decided that your daily diesel rig needs to go,, oh,, around 50 to 600 horsepower faster (what a power band!) Then I think this is just what the doctor ordered.

iDear – The Tiny Wooden Speaker

by Al

iDear
The i-dear may look like any old ordinary wooden block but it also has the added function of being a tiny speaker.

I must admit I’m not sure why you’d want to carry a tiny wooden speaker around with you but for those who do here it is. The i-dear can be connected to your PC via USB or any other audio device via a regular jack lead and then you can enjoy all 1.5W of woody sound.

The iWood is available from FunShop and if any of our readers can understand Korean please let us know if we’ve missed any hidden functionality.

A few days ago we were dancing around as we found out we had 14,394 subscribers, still not really believing it we asked for comments and offered a prize to the funniest. We didn’t get the 14,394 comments (pah!) though 30 was a good start (thanks folks) and to celebrate the fact we broke the 15,000 subscriber mark the next day we’ll be sending out two random gadgets.

The 2 lucky winners are, drum roll please, Leanne for sending us this poem: Continue reading » Prizes for Subscribing and Commenting

Floppy Disk Notebook

by Al

Floppy Disk Notebook
I don’t go anywhere without taking at least one notebook. Notebook of the paper kind may not be as swish as the latest PDA but you can’t make a paper aeroplane with a PDA.

This latest notebook is probably the nerdiest one out there, the Floppy Disk Journal where your precious paper is protected by something called floppy disks. They come in 3.5″, 5.25″ and the rarer 8″ varieties and the paper inside probably has more capacity than the original disks.

The Floppy Disk Journals are available at Think Geek stating from $6.99.

Desktop Girls Working Out

by Al

20 Second Work Out Girl

If you’re too lazy to go to the gym but enjoy gym eye candy here is a very sad solution, the 20 second workout girls.

There are 4 to collect, each workout girls will work her little socks off for 20 seconds after a wind-up. If winding-up your girl sounds like too much hard work you might want to wait for Work Out Girl 2.0 with USB support (okay I made that bit up).

I do wonder who buys this crap stuff but if it’s you then they’re available from Gadget Shop for £3.95 (~$7.50) each.

iDisguise – The Minty iPod

by Al

iDisguise.

Protect your iPod from thieves by disguising it as Candy, thanks Jesse.

It all started when my car was broken into while I was living in Boston. Smashed windows and shattered glass littered my car. Everything was taken…or so I thought. While cleaning up the glass, I noticed my digital camera on the floor of the car among some items not worth stealing. What had caused the thief to overlook my camera was the fact that it was small enough to store in a mint tin, which successfully disguised the camera from him.
