SkyPartner SP101 bridges Skype gap
Despite the VoIP revolution being well underway in most advanced countries around the world, there are still many more who are apprehensive of using this technology to streamline their business model as well as cut down costs on costs due to phobia or just plain old resistance to new ideas. Hopefully the SkyPartner SP101 dual-mode VoIP-enabled phone from 3J Communications will be able to change such mindsets, offering the best of both worlds.
The SkyPartner SP101 is a full fledged wireless Skype phone that is more than capable of handling incoming PSTN calls as well. Each purchase comes with a USB dongle that you plug into any available USB port on your computer, while the DECT handset sits pretty on your desk. There is a maximum working range of 160 feet, making the SP101 perfect for those who have small offices and yet want to carry out their Skype conversations without being tied down to their desks. Each SP101 comes with a 1/5″ color LCD display with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels which are more than enough to display a full-color Skype GUI for you to make VoIP phone calls directly from the handset. Powered by proven DECT technology, you can expect crystal clear digital communications with each call. Other features include up to 50 numbers within the phonebook, Skype Voicemail, Call Forwarding, and SkypeOut/In service support, conference calling, and call waiting.
The SkyPhone SP101 will be available next January onwards at the recommended retail price of $119.95. Too bad the aesthetics are pretty much ordinary and do not complement the vast array of functions it has.
