This is a great gadget, but I find that the screen is a tad bit too small, and also the depth perception is not too accurate. However, a friend of mine pointed out that this can be easily solved by mounting the camera on top of the license plate at a steep angle so that the edge of the car bumper can be seen, but that means you will have to sacrifice a broader rear view.

how far does the wireless feature work with this camera, if you had a 12 volt supply for the monitor, could you take the camera inside, or away from the vechilcle. Please let me know if you have one, at stevenpaulreilly@aol.com

John and Steve…this thing’s got 13 levels of brightness. Initially, I thought it was virtually worthless at night as well. But when my wife pointed out the brightness button to me, it turns out that it’s got pretty good visibility at night with just the reverse lights.

As far as the system flickering on during normal driving, I just press the power button and turn the thing off once I’m done backing up.
