Your wife will love those (your wallet not quite…)

by Dan

chocolate.jpgEveryone knows that women love chocolate. They also know that diamonds are women’s best friends. Well, what if we mix them together? That is exactly what Simons Jewelers did, specially for this holiday season they created “Le chocolat”: “a collection of Lake Forest Confections gourmet chocolates, selected by master candy maker, as well as an arrangement of magnificent jewelry from Simon’s personal jewelry and gemstone vault”. Reading through that phrase there is only one question that comes into my mind… who the heck is the master candy maker?

Anyway, it looks like you can choose the chocolates to be accompanied with yellow diamonds, blue diamonds, emeralds or sapphires. So far so good right? The price of those puppies… that is what is missing. Grab your seat, a confection of “Le Chocolat” goes for $1,500,000. The funny thing is that the site brings the following tagline: “Indulge yourself this holiday with this priceless collection”. I mean, those are everything but priceless as far as I can tell…

Since I was already navigating through the site I decided to check out what other “specialties” they had for sale. For $60,000 you can buy an engagement ring featuring “high polished platinum mounting set with one large princess cut diamond in center with two princess diamonds on each side”.

Alternatively, if you are looking for something more “economical”, you can spend $10,000 and bring home a pendant with a larger round diamond set in center surrounded by a smaller micro-set of diamonds.
