[...] What is wrong with my iPod? Even though you are probably not aware of it, virtually everything you own, which uses electricity, has a diagnostic mode. Everything from your cellphone to your dishwasher can tell you what is wrong with it, or at least give you a clue, if you know the secret combination of buttons to push. The iPod is no different. If you suspect there is something wrong with your iPod, you can switch it to diagnostic mode to determine what the problem may be. Turn off the “hold switch” Press and hold “Menu” and “Select” buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds to reset the iPod. The Apple logo will appear and you should feel the hard drive spinning up. Press and hold both the “Back” and “Select” buttons at the same time. You will hear an audible chirp sound and the logo should appear backwards. Let go of the “Back” and “Select” buttons. You are now in Diagnostic Mode. Complete instructions and how to interpret the results of the diagnostic tests can be found at the MethodShop.com iPod Diagnostic Mode Tutorial. This works with the Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini iPods. [via coolest-gadgets.com] Published Thursday, November 16, 2006 8:09 PM by FOX16 Webmaster Filed Under: Tips & Tricks [...]
