[...] How to get off the phone with your mother-in-law We've all been in this situation: you're on the the phone with someone who, despite all of your polite hints, will not shut up. Think Geek has the solution: the Excuse Box. My standard operating procedure when I want to get off the phone is to stop talking. A conversation generally doesn't work very well when only one person is talking. However, there are people who could have a conversation with a wall an never realize they are the only one talking. The Excuse Box is made for these people. The Excuse Box has 10 minutes of environment sounds to help you make your excuses. It has everything from a baby crying to last boarding call at the airport to construction work. My favorite is static; the bad cell phone connection is always a good excuse. It's only $13 and claims to have high quality audio. Seems like a pretty good investment to me. You can listen to more samples at Think Geek.
