Arcade Bowling Game for the living room

Bowling - you either love it or loathe it. Most folks involve themselves at the bowling alley and treat it like a second home, as it is more than a place to just toss a few balls down the lane. The bowling alley is a place where you bond iwth your friends, discuss over the latest happenings around the world, and try to improve your personal best with each throw. Unfortunately, most of us who work these days rarely find the time to bowl with our mates anymore, and the good folks at Hammacher decided to ease our bowling cravings with the Arcade Bowling Game which you can enjoy from the comfort of your home.
This game unit offers up to six different game challenges, and you can invite another three of your best mates over for some four-way action. A trackball is used to bowl down the virtual lane as shown on the display. This Arcade Bowling Game was carefully programmed to depict real-life bowling physics, encompassing ball spin and direction. There is even a built-in jukebox to keep you entertained when it is not yet your turn to knock down some pins. Among the games included are half-game regulation 10-pin, full-game regulation 10-pin, and three game series regulation 10-pin.
Of course, you will have to be in possession of a pretty sizable bank account balance before picking up the Arcade Bowling Game from Hammacher as it costs a whooping $6,999.95 to bring this baby home. We strongly suggest that you involve yourself in a less expensive hobby if you come up a few grand short. It does make us wonder - if you can afford such an expensive toy to play from your house, why not participate in a real bowling game with the rest of your mates instead? Going out for some fresh air does a whole world of good for your complexion and social life.

September 14th, 2006 at 2:21 pmHey,
I worked on this game. I have NO clue why Hammacher Schlemmer decided not to call it by name, but it’s called Rockin’ Bowl-o-Rama. Namco sells it in the arcades. It’s definitely pricey, but it’s an arcade game first, and it doesn’t have a chance of selling to locations if you can buy it cheaper for the home. ![]()
