I too find that term 1G more indicative of a one gig iPod. Never seen anyone use that for 1st gen. Maybe a better term would’ve been Rev. A iPod.

just to clarify..1G=1st Generation…not 1GB.

I had one of the 1G’s as well…man, can’t believe it was already that long ago that they came out!

I’ve still got a 1G iPod, and it’s still alive and kicking just as good as the first day I bought it. I did have to replace the battery a while back, but that was cheap and easy. Of course, in our little three-person family we’ve also got two nanos, a shuffle and a 40GB iPod Photo.

BTW, 1G refers to “first generation”, not 1 gig.

I have one of the originals iPods, but it has a 5 GB HD. I never saw one with a 1 GB HD. Only the shuffle is a 1 GB.

With the fast growth of technology these days, it’s always fun to look back at a time when things were a little different.
