iSplash

Carrying around your iPod without a case in your pocket is likely to cause some damage, taking it places like the beach, with all that sand and water, is iPod suicide.

iSplash

Fortunately there is the iSplash, a water and weather resistant boom box for your iPod. It also works with any other MP3 player/CD player with a mini headphone jack.

Your iPod is placed inside the iSplash, connecting via a dock connector. After that, you’re good to go, just use the controls on the front of the box to manage your tunes without having to worry about your iPod’s safety.

For non-iPod users, there is an 18 inch retractable cable, known as ZipConnect, which connects to your MP3 player, CD player, and possibly satellite radios via a mini headphone jack. This should be a big selling point, as it would be sure to work with future devices so long as they keep the mini headphone jack, which I don’t see changing any time soon.

The iSplash should be able to power your poolside party or beach bash, it has built-in high fidelity stereo speakers, electronic equalizer, and a subwoofer jack for that extra oomph. Of course, I’d worry about keeping a subwoofer out in the rain, or on the beach, but it’s your call.

Having one of these could be handy, not only could I use it at the beach or pool, it could be used in the shower, too, which would be awesome. It is a bit pricey, but it looks sturdy and sure is useful. Get your iSplash from Sharper Image for $150.

What they should of done is allowed you to put your iPod inside of the device – So that, along with the stereo, wouldn’t get wet ;-).
